The Stramilano SOTTOZERO is a wonderful opportunity to do sport together, surrounded by a unique setting — the futuristic CityLife district.

Of course, running keeps us fit, but to go even further we also need to take care of our diet.

Here are some tips we can all follow every day:

  1. At main meals, include a good amount of carbohydrates, along with plenty of seasonal vegetables.
  2. Have a proper breakfast, prioritizing complex carbohydrates (whole grains) and fruit, accompanied by a small portion of plant-based proteins (soy, seeds, nuts) and/or animal-based proteins (bresaola, ham, yogurt).
  3. Stay hydrated before, during, and after your run: good hydration allows for better recovery.
  4. Eat fresh fish, shellfish, and salmon regularly to meet your needs for essential amino acids.
  5. For dressings, all spices and herbs are great, as well as lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, extra virgin olive oil, and small amounts of flaxseed oil for their omega-3 content.
  6. Eat legumes, grains, and vegetables frequently.

Speaking of nutrition: fruit and energy bars are great allies for every running session — and you’ll find plenty of them at the Stramilano SOTTOZERO refreshment stations (along the route and at the finish line).

Take a break to recharge your energy after physical effort, and don’t forget another healthy habit: proper recycling.

For an eco-friendly run, please use the organic waste and paper bins located along the Stramilano SOTTOZERO route — at the refreshment points, the start, and the finish line.

We’ll see you on Sunday, November 30th, at the starting line on Via Cassiodoro (CityLife)!
